2017 - present

the Swimming Poems, is an ongoing body of work - digital photographs + videos I make with my mobile device while swimming in the Atlantic Ocean. I am thinking about landscape, portraiture, the photographic event, subjects, surfaces, screens, selfies, sequences + software - all that relate to the in/visible.

I think of the works as collaborations between the waves, my body + the machine. Like the glass rectangle + its software, the water becomes an interface for my creative experience. My desire as author and control as photographer are subject to the tide. I have to work with the waves + software simultaneously, physically - creating the technological + procedural parameters in which I produce this work.
